KGE Dress Code:

*All clothing must be appropriately sized. Over-sized outwear is not allowed. *

Pants/Capris – Must be worn at or above the hips, not over-sized or sagging. Pants may not be torn, ripped, shredded, or have holes. Well-fitting joggers are allowed. Leggings are only allowed with a long shirt or dress.

Torn and shredded jeans are not appropriate for the school setting.

Shirts – Any long sleeve or short sleeve shirts may be worn. Sleeveless shirts are acceptable as long as they are not muscle shirts, spaghetti straps, tank tops, halters, or low armpit sport jerseys. Straps should be wider than 2 inches. Shirts should be long enough to completely cover both stomach and back when raising arms up.

See-through, low cut, off the shoulder, and cropped shirts are not appropriate for the school setting.

Clothing which features alcohol, gangs, gang writing, gambling, tobacco, drugs, or are sexually suggestive are not allowed.

Shorts/Skirts/Dresses – All shorts, skirts, and dresses must be no shorter than 3 inches above the knee.

Torn and shredded shorts and skirts are not appropriate for the school setting.

Shoes – For safety reasons, it is strongly recommended that students wear a full shoe or athletic shoe. Slides and flip-flops are not allowed. Sandals with a back strap may be worn but are discouraged.

Slippers, shoes will rollers, and high heeled shoes are not appropriate for the school setting.

Hair – Unnatural hair colors and extensions are not appropriate for the school setting.

Jewelry/Makeup – Only ear piercings will be allowed. No facial or body piercings of any kind are allowed.

Make-up including lipstick is not appropriate for the school setting.

Artificial/fake nails of any kind is not appropriate for the school setting.

Accessories – Hats and hoodies are not allowed in the building.

As per the Los Lunas Schools Student Handbook, the responsibility to interpret and enforce the policy rests with each site administrator.
